Calculate belt length

Calculate the length of a strap or belt using: the diameters of the pulleys and the center-center distance between the shafts of the pulleys.

Material Properties

List of materials for transport on rubber conveyor belts, with specific weight, maximum advance angle and recommended Dunlop quality

Chemical resistance

A general summary table of the chemical resistance of PVC, PU, Silicone, PTFE/Teflon, Hytrel, NBR/Nitrile, SBR, NR, CR/Neoprene, Butyl and EPDM rubber

Belt weights Dunlop Rubber Conveyor Belts

Don't have a Data Sheet at hand and want to calculate the weight of (Dunlop) rubber conveyor belts? Use this table

Diameter of a roller of rubber conveyor belt

Based on the thickness of the belt and the length of the rubber conveyor belt, we provide you with the diameter of the belt roller in table form

Rubber Conveyor Belts - What Standards are there?

In rubber conveyor belts there are indeed DIN and ISO standards, but many conveyor belt suppliers interpret - especially the testing - rather freely. Learn all about the standards and the tests.

DIN 22102 and ISO 10247 - Rubber Conveyor Belts - Classes

The sober figures about the DIN 22102 and ISO 10247 standard. Type W is almost always the best choice. For very sharp, irregular product, type X can be the best choice. Type Y is average.

Friction coefficient of the bottom of plastic conveyor belts

Table showing how the bottom of the conveyor belt influences the behavior on the slide plate and on the coated or uncoated drums.

Crowning of Pulleys

Are you going to make drums yourself (or have them made)? Then be sure to follow the guidelines in these tables for the curvature, so that the conveyor belts steer well.

Cuffling of Pulleys (Drive Belts)

In this table we give you guidelines on how to chamfer pulleys for belt transmissions using drive belts.

Convex and Concave Curves

Switching from horizontal to ascending gives a lot of extra tire tension in the curve. These are the calculations to take this into account.

Rota Cross - Dimensions of the carriers

Our advice for the design, pitch and height of the cleats for (transversely stable) rubber conveyor belts

Elevator Calculations

Use our formulas and tables to calculate the capacity and motor power of your elevator belt installation

Rota Cross - Bottom bend (Transport side)

We look at the 2 ways to make the bottom bend of the transport side: with rollers or with a large bend wheel

Rota Cross - Bottom bend (Return side)

We look at the 2 ways to make the bottom bend of the return side: with rollers or with a large bend wheel

Rota Cross - Top bend (Transport side)

We look at the 2 ways to make the top bend of the transport side: with rollers or with a large bend wheel

Rota Cross - Top bend (return side)

The top bend on the transport side is best made with large bending discs

Recomended minimum pulley diameters(EP DIN 22102)

The values in this table apply to rubber conveyor belts with a textile core EP - DIN22102

Recommended minimum pulley diameter (ST DIN 22131)

The values in this table apply to rubber conveyor belts with a steel core ST - DIN 22131
